The Man in the High Castle is a dystopian science fiction TV series based on the novel by Philip K. Dick. It explores an alternate history where the Allies lost World War II, and the United States is divided between two occupying powers: the Greater Nazi Reich in the East and the Japanese Pacific States in the West, with a neutral zone in the middle.
Juliana Crain, played by Alexa Davalos, is the central character. She starts out living a quiet life in Japanese-controlled San Francisco. Her world turns upside down when her half-sister, Trudy, gives her a mysterious film reel and is immediately killed by the Japanese secret police. The film appears to show an alternate reality one where the Allies actually won the war.
Haunted and intrigued by this footage, Juliana embarks on a dangerous journey to deliver the film to the mysterious resistance figure known as “The Man in the High Castle.” As she dives deeper into the underground resistance, she begins to question everything she thought she knew about her country, her family, and herself.
